Protection Dog ! ? !
Storm and Delilah are playing watch dog at maw-maw & paw-paw’s house.
We all (Storm, Rose, & Delilah) went to the local pet store last night to get some dog food. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera... if figures, there would have been a couple of great shots! Since there wasn’t any business going on at the grooming shop, we had all the dogs pampered for a minute. They had their nails clipped, ears cleaned, sprayed with doggie perfume, and had a bandanna tied around their neck. Since they were all such good girls, we bought a couple of toys for them. Of couse when we got home, the toys only lasted for a couple of minutes, because Storm is pretty tough on the toys. She could tear apart a steel ball I think!
My mom decided she wanted to get Rose a harness that would stop her from pulling. (I’ll let you know if it works or not.) Needless to say, at the store we wanted to try it on Rosie first, to make sure it fit. We couldn’t figure it out, so my mom found someone that worked there, which happened to be the manager. He tried to help us, but he was just as lost as we were. Then it hit me, ta-da, I figured it out... then the manager said, “Want a job?” We all just giggled.
People that walked by were very friendly, they pet all the dogs and talked positively about Storm. Storm was giving away all my kisses. Then a cute couple walked up to us while we were getting the food. They just oooo’d & ahhh’d about the dogs, & especially Storm, because they knew people that had pits. But then something strange happened. Storm was a little stand-off-ish with the guy & Delilah was wanting his attention. Storm didn’t have a problem with the girl though. Delilah is usually the one who doesn’t want anything to do with anyone out in public. Storm stayed by my side most of the time while they were around. I don’t know what she was thinking, but it’s times like that, that I wish Storm could whisper in my ear. Storm was watching the guy, he said that she was trying to protect me. I felt she was wanting me to protect her. Oh well... we all had fun.
Toodles!

Perhaps Storm was feeling grumpy because you got Rose a harness?
Your trip to the pet store sounded like lots of fun, and the people were really great. And the pampering session must have been heavenly!
Later!
Storm is beautiful; what a sweet little face she has! Love the Bible verse at the top of your page, too....
Its so much fun to ride in the car
and go shopping at the pet store.
Storm is an AWESOME watch dog,Delliah
is a Lucky ladie.
hmmm... dgos like cats can sense bad vibes.... cheers!
I guess your right. Storm has only done that one, maybe two, other times before. The couple seemed nice. But the guy did mention that he knew someone that fought them, though he didn't agree with it. Maybe Storm heard that and is mad at him for not turning the dog fighter into the police!!!
I have seen Indy be aloof like that with a few people and a few dogs. I never push him to "meet" someone if he doesn't seem comfortoable, his instincts are very good. A couple of times when I have walked him at night he has acted in a protective way when we see someone that he seems to get a bad vibe about. Once we was really staring at this guy who was walking about 20 feet ahead of us, and Indy just kept staring at the guy and walking right next to me. Then I watched the guy and noticed that he was weaving as he walked. A few weeks ago I took him out one last time at his potty spot and this guy came out of an apartment building and was just sitting in his car. Indy stared at him and stood in front of me, leaning on my legs as if to say "Stay here mom, don't move." The guy looked up and saw Indy staring at him and seemed startled, a few minutes later he went inside. I think Storm and Indy are very good judges of character!
Storm was definately protecting you! They have a sixth sense about others..She is a great protector!

Shasta has done the same thing with me on a few occasions. I know dogs are a good judge of character as I had a purebreed GS that was a LOT smarter than gullible me.
One night at a bar (my younger years *giggle*) I was going to take the bus home rather than staying with the crowd. One of the guys that I had never met before then offered me a ride home, so to be curtious, I asked him if he'd like to come in for coffee.
When Shebia saw him she got in front om me fast and I couldn't believe her snarling and barking at him to get lost. I was holding her with all my force.
After his initial shock, he yelled to me if he had his way, he's kick the living daylights out of the f*cking thing! I told him to get lost before I let me dog loose!
Once I shut the door, I promised Shebia that from that day on, she would meet a person first before I ever went out or in a car with them....and I did!
Shasta's never gone to that extreme, but she did keep the telephone man at the front door while I checked my line. He knew not to move and THAT surprised me, but I knew she senced something and went with it.
If Storm doesn't like someone, it's for a reason. Go by her.
GOOD STORMY!!!!
Yes, animals sense things that we do not, and it is good that we listen to them.
I love how Storms head was turned for that head shot. He looks like Show Quality there. I hope that you all have a great Thanksgiving holiday. I posted a couple things today on my Blog but then I will be away from my Blog through the holiday season. Don't eat too much and I will see you all after the holidays again!
