10th Annual Toy Run For Kids
Whew, I'm back and glad to be over that nasty bug that I had. I've been so busy, today is the first day I've actually had time to do the blog thing. So here goes...
Saturday, I forced myself out of bed to attend the 10th Annual Gaston County Toy Run For Kids event. This is where motorcycle riders bring toys and all ride together to help deliver the toys to
designated areas where less fortunate children are waiting. My dad helps direct this event and it's getting bigger and bigger each year! This year there were around 1,000 motorcycles riding in the run. The toys and money that are left over are split between families in the local area that are on bad times, have been laid off, or are needy for some reason or another. It started around 11:45. I was video taping and taking pictures, since I haven't rode my motorcycle enough to be able to ride in it this year. Plus I was really weak from being so sick for so many days. When the motorcycles pulled out onto the main road I was standing on the corner video taping and it was a full 15 minutes of motorcycles riding 2 by 2. That's a lot of bikes! Here are some pictures of all the bikes parked at the church, which was the starting point.
