Anxiety or just bored???
I’ve been pretty busy this week. My mom has gone to the beach, so that means when I go home for lunch the doggies are READY to go out! When I go up to my parent’s house, the dogs are usually just sleeping... what a dog’s life! This is Storm at my house.
This weekend, my ½ brother & his family came down to visit. I got to see my new niece that’s 5 months old now, what a baby doll. Storm was just absolutely captivated by her. I wish I had my camera, but of course I forgot it on Saturday. Storm would lick Savannah’s tiny, little feet & toes and Savannah would just laugh & giggle. It was sooooo cute!
We all went out shopping and out to eat on Sunday before they had to leave. This is what we saw when my dad and I walked into his house that evening... you can’t see it in the picture, but newspapers were everywhere also.... Rascals!

I guess that’s the punishment you humans get for leaving a dog behind and out of the family fun , LOL.
By the way, did you vote for me? I got nominated and made it as a finalist once again in another blog award under the category Best Education/Homeschooling Blog. You will find the info. at my site at the right column. Your vote would be greatly appreciated. Also, I answered your question from the previous post on “Blood” :)
Later and thanks in advance for the vote :)
Anxiety,And the smell of the new baby.Did't help.Poor Storm
Every dog afflicted with separation anxiety reacts somewhat differently. Some dogs only engage in one problem behaviour while others may engage in several. Many dogs can sense when their owner is leaving and become anxious even before the owner leaves the house. The dog may follow the owner from room to room, whimper, shake or even become aggressive as the owner tries to depart. The dog's anxiety level peaks within 30 minutes of departure and this is usually when most damage is done. Dogs displaying separation anxiety will often scratch and dig at doors and windows in an attempt to follow their owner. Chewing on household objects is also very common. Some dogs urinate and defecate in unacceptable locations such as by the door or on their owner's bed. Whining and barking for an extended period are also common concerns. Other dogs become depressed and will not eat or drink while their owner is gone. This is especially detrimental if the owner is gone for an extended period. In rare cases, dogs will have diarrhea, vomit or engage in self-mutilation such as chewing on themselves or excessive licking after being left alone. Most affected dogs will become overly excited when the owner arrives home and will engage in an unusually prolonged greeting,
He love's his mommy,
First I have a question for Sam I Am. I have found it most common in my past dog and in Shasta that they do not eat or drink until I come home...although now with the dog training course, we do not allow food down at all times anymore. Owner eats first, then the *sorry* dog. Same as in the wolf pack, top wolf eats first.
But back to my findings.
Because they don't eat or drink, could it not be because that way they know they will not have to do their duty until their moms and dads return?
Andee, Shasta rarely makes a mess in the house, meaning chewing garbage or papers, etc...but there are those rare occations she gets into mischief. I don't have to see it when I get home, I can tell by her putting herself in the corner. Yes! She disaplins herself too. LOL
Storm loves you and I guess the baby really excited her. If its not an oncurring problem, I wouldn't worry. Hey! Are WE PERFECT? NOT! LOL
Laughing with you I promise!!!!! Been there done that...
Still laughing!! Tonys laughing too!
Laura
