Animal Cops

I love to watch the show Animal Cops on Animal Planet. Eventhough it breaks my heart to see those poor animals in the unlivable conditions, but it's great when they show that the animal has been adopted out. Well this evening as I was laying across the couch with Storm by my side, I was watching Animal Cops Houston. I am a little perturbed. The cops went to an abanded house that had two terrier mixes with 4 puppies, but 1 had died and in the house were 2 pitbulls. Of course they went into the house with caution (as you should with ANY dog that you don't know) and realized and stated on the show that the pit bulls did NOT show ANY signs of aggression. (Get the point... no aggression.) They were cute pitties, one was tri-colored and the other was a black/brown brindle. Their tails were wagging and they were excited and happy to see those cops. (Little did the dogs know what was in their future.)

After the cops put all the dogs in the travel carriers, one cop made the comment, that it was a good day, they rescued some puppies with their parents and got some pit bulls off the streets. *Urrgggh* Pit bulls off the streets???? They were friendly, no aggression. Needless to say, that ticked me off. So I continued to watch to see what they would do with the FRIENDLY pitties.

With the terrier puppies, they had to do a blood transfusion, which did save their lives. After a week or so, they regained all their strength and were growing like little weeds. They were even living with a foster mom.

During the whole show, I kept waiting. NOTHING was mentioned about the pitties... AT ALL. No temperment tests, no help, no story. So that only leads me to believe that with the comment that was made by the cop, they were put down. What kind of help was that? I am really disappointed in the Animal Cops show.

Hi there! I love the picture of you and your puppy dog! What a cutie!

I am new to this blogging stuff, but I am absolutely thrilled to see so many pit bull lovers out there who share my feelings!

I am also an avid Animal Cops watcher, but I must say that lately I have been quite dismayed at all the pit bulls I see taken away and most likely destroyed because no one is even willing to give them a chance just because they are labeled as "pit bulls".

What is wrong with people these days? Why have so many innocent dog lives been lost because of the ignorance of human beings?

As I search for more pit bull lovers out there, I will continue on my quest to connect with others who share my love for these beautiful dogs, and I will sign as many petitions as I can so that I can possibly help save the lives of some of these wonderful and loyal dogs!

Is that any different from the Story Angie told where this woman found a bunch of puppies and was nursing them and totally loving them. She saved their lives. But then she found out they were pittie puppies she had them put down. SOME ANIMAL LOVER HUH!

I'm really starting to dislike pittie haters and feel bad as we are suppose to forgive no matter what. But it's getting REALLY hard! Wait a minute...why should I put myself down! Jesus got angry too!
