Ride to Chimney Rock & Blue Ridge Parkway

Here are some pics from the latest rides I've went on. Two weeks ago, we went to Chimney Rock, a total of 11, I think. This was the first time that we all rode in a group. It was a blast, well until we went past Chimney Rock to ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This is the beginning of the parkway. Notice the fog starting to roll in...

This photo is up on the parkway, see the fog off the side of the mountain??? And the wet road? Uggh, it was so foggy at one point that I could barely see the tail light in front of me. That makes for a scary ride knowing that the edge of the mountain is right to your side.

And if the fog wasn't bad enough, it became a horrible down pour of rain. Not to mention it was pretty chilly up on the mountain. We were ALL soaked and cold. It rained the whole time coming around the mountain.

As we finally came to the bottom of the mountain, it was dark. So then another fear popped into my brain... watch out for the wild critters that could run out in the curves.

Needless to say, I was glad to have gotten home and in bed. We thank our Lord for letting all of us make it back safely!
